“Work 4 hours a week and the rest of time do what you really love to do.”

Timothy FerrissAbout

Timothy Ferriss (born July 20, 1977) is an American author, entrepreneur, angel investor, and public speaker. He speaks six languages, runs a multinational firm from wireless locations worldwide, and has been a world-record holder in tango, a national champion in Chinese kickboxing, and an actor on a hit television series in Hong Kong. In 2007, he published The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich, which was a #1 New York Times bestseller, a #1 Wall Street Journal bestseller, and a USA Today bestseller. In 2010, he followed up with The 4-Hour Body, which was another #1 New York Times bestseller. Ferriss’ third book, The 4-Hour Chef, was released in November 2012. Ferriss is also an angel investor or an advisor to Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Evernote, and Uber, among other companies.
He is a guest lecturer at Princeton University and faculty at Singularity University at NASA Ames Research Center. His blog is one of the most popular in the world (according to Alexa, Technorati): http://www.fourhourblog.com

Ferriss’ credo is the focusation and maximisation of joyous activities, while eliminating radically all unimportant tasks. He promises, that work can be reduced to 4 hours a week: Through focus on important tasks using the pareto principle (80:20), drastic elimination, and automisation of profitable processes. Ferriss himself claims to open his emails only once a week, and checking his finance 2 times a month. The secret: a good product within a small market niche, cheap personal assistents and programmers from far east, and a lot of well defined freedom for all his connected suppliers. Even though Ferriss gives many tipps for employees (how to become an asset for the company and make a deal for home-work), his ultimate suggestion is to become an independent business-owner.
